Branding reminds me of baking a self saucing chocolate pudding.

The first time I made a self-saucing chocolate pudding, it was YUM, a real winner… but it wasn’t “100% yum” yet.

I hadn’t gotten the ratio of cake to sauce quite right.

The next time, I had to put it back in the oven as the dough hadn’t cooked

And then there was the time that I hadn’t put enough water in the pan.

Perfecting a recipe takes tweaking.

A really delicious brand also takes a bit of tweaking.

Yes, you can “whip up a brand” in a day – but it isn’t going to taste as good as when you tweak the ingredients + allow the brand’s flavours to develop.

Sometimes I’ll hit a clients brand on the head, but often times we need to try out a few ingredients before we get it “just right”.

It’s all part of the process, though!

You see, the branding process has a really muddy middle.

[Which is not something that many people chat about!]

But any process of change has that “muddy” part.

The part where you’re unsure, confused, overwhelmed…

So overwhelmed in fact – that you find yourself in the que at starbucks – thinking

Do I order a vanilla latte, or the cinnamon almond milk macchiato“?

The branding process can be muddy, occasionally messy, often requires many decisions #overwhelming!!!!

What my clients have said over again, is that the appreciate the fact that I not only support them and help them through the branding process – but that I don’t let them settle!

Because it’s super easy to say “Ugh, let’s just go for that moodboard / colour palette / font… but all these things have such a huge impact on your biz… that it makes sense to dig deep… allow the process to evolve… and create something that really represents you!

Perfecting a recipe takes tweaking.

After working with many clients, I developed my own recipe to build a brand.

There are just a few key ingredients, but most of the magic happens when we whip your AwesomeSauce into the mix!

For extra deliciousness:

To create any really delicious brand, it really helps to have someone who knows what they are doing – working with you to create your masterpiece.

When you do, make sure that your brander extracts your essence, and brings the best out in YOU!
