I feel really privileged when I get to work with clients I know, and it’s even better when that client [yes, I’m talking about Kate here] has a business that is fuelled by her purpose!
When we first connected – I just loved how she integrated God and business together – often sharing great insights about running a business as a christian! Whilst my beliefs are at the core of what I do… I don’t often talk about them… and loved how Kate was so openly focused on sharing her faith with others.
When she weaved her magic touch on my business, and helped me work through my marketing, I got to experience her other God given gifts… making the [seemingly] complicated – totally doable and streamlined and easy – she took all my “stuff” and helped me see a super clear way forward.
So when Kate asked me to work on her brand… I was jumping up and down [inside of course] + seriously looking forward to the opportunity!
After a strategy discussion with Kate, it was time to get all the ideas, thoughts, brand direction and strategy – onto one page… the moodboard:
With a few tweaks and color palette exploration… I realised that the initial palette’s we were looking at, were not creating the feeling of light + joy… and it was only after we brought in the yellow… that the palette started coming together!
I’m always amazed at the HUGE role color plays in creating your brand feel. Yellow on it’s own would feel light, fun bold and happy… but matched with the navy and grey tones… it has a beautiful sophistication about it [wouldn’t you agree???]
Next up… the logo!
I really enjoyed exploring a variety of concepts for Kate’s brand… from icons, to lettermarks, pathways and plenty of font options!
After Initial idea explorations… we went about looking at what Kate liked, and the feeling that her logo needed to represent… and a few revisions later… this gorgeous logo stood out for both of us:
I love how the sophistication shines through… but in a beautiful and fun way!
and the icon / submark creates so much versatility for Kate:
Ps… Kate is TOTALLY a gift to her clients… when most of us are stressing about launches and marketing funnels, Kate’s clients know that they can relax… and just breathe – cause it’s all in Kate’s super capable hands!
The patterns and textures were inspired by Kate’s love of moroccon patterns and shapes… and after playing with color and all sorts of elements… I pulled the brand together to look a little something like this:
and this…
