Each colour evokes an emotion!
I have spoken about the impact that colour has on your branding, and this week, I did a test – I wanted to see what the reaction would be to Pantone’s “colour of the year” [which is the very luscious GREENERY BTW].
Let me first introduce you to GREENERY [the colour I tested]:
On it’s own, Greenery evokes a ton of emotion!
Pantone describes it as…
“A refreshing and revitalising shade,
Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings”
I asked a bunch of entrepreneurs, creatives, and heart centered ladies what emotion this green evoked for them, and this is what they said:
I’d have to say green makes me feel fresh and energised.
I feel hopeful
That’s my emoji of choice for mischievous. Green reminds me of Ireland and in turn faeries!
Its Fresh and organic
makes me go wheeeee! I love how fresh it feels
😊🤔 I only really love green in plant form.
Yes…fresh and clean… new spring beginnings!
Green makes me happy , it’s my fave color
growth is my word for the year so I love it 🌱
Love it 😍 its tranquil and calm x
greenery makes me think of all the life I want to add to our home!!
Green energy recycling
It’s so pretty!
and… all of these emoticons were shared with me, and I really love some of these stickers too!!!
Yip… Greenery pulls out some fabulous emotions #NoDoubt!
Why am I showing you all of this?
Because one colour – can evoke a mountain of emotions.
So when you’re thinking of your brand, you need to think about the emotions that colour will evoke in your ideal clients!
It’s gets a bit more complicated though…
Because one colour on it’s own sends a message.
But one colour in a different setting, has a different feel!
Take a look at these two images:
Moodboards + Colour
That’s why the images I select for my clients moodboard – can really impact the colour we opt for – when deciding on their brand
These new colours suddenly give greenery a very different feel!
Here’s what that difference could look like in Social media imagery:
In Branding – your colour recipe is pretty critical!
with over a million choices, it can feel a little overwhelming to get your colours juuuusssttt right, so that you evoke the right emotions in the right clients!
Colour mixing… is like brand “fine art”!
