what are some of the big mistakes I could avoid before my next launch?!?!?!
[ps… Huge note of thanks to all these ladies who have shared their wisdom with you here! ]
Launch Mistake #1: Validation
Addi Ganley says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
not taking the time to validate the product or idea before creating it.
How can you fix it?
Always find out what your audience needs and then create the solution. You don’t want to waste a ton of time on something your audience won’t buy
Launch Mistake #2: strategy
Kim Argetsinger says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
hoping someone else will give them the plug-and-play formula they can follow to launch, but the most successful launches I see come from someone finding their own and making it work.
How can you fix it?
Embrace a ‘testing’ mentality.
Release that white-knuckle grip on the outcome, know this is one of many launches + a great source of data for the next time around, and that everything doesn’t hinge on one a single launch.
Launch Mistake #3: Mindset
Anna Frandsen says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
not keeping your mindset in check.
So many entrepreneurs loose steam and haven’t set up a support system throughout their launch
How can you fix it?
To keep your mindset in check + energy high for the whole launch – make sure you have your OWN support team to hype you up and stay consistent as you promote!
Launch Mistake #4: audience
The biggest mistake I see when launching is…
not narrowing down on what you do & who you want to serve – for right now (it can totally change later), instead you disappear into the void of same-same-ness!
How can you fix it?
Instead of focusing on “anyone who will pay”, you’ll get more traction + interest by getting really clear on who you’re building this brand for [and what you’ll offer them].
When you really target your audience, knowing what to do + where to put your energy will help you create a much more effective launch!
Launch Mistake #5: Content
Gabby Bogan says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
Getting so excited about what the new service or course offering that they forget to portray how it can change someone’s life, instead – they focus on talking about the features + benefits, or they try and do what everyone else is doing.
Launching a new program is actually really simple and doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.
How can you fix it?
Always share what’s on your heart, but don’t forget to make it about them.
Launch Mistake #6: the tech
Jaime Slutzky says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
Not thinking through all the permutations and how to manage the customer service issues / inquiries for all of them… especially when it comes to testing out your tech (from automations, triggers, zaps, sequences, etc).
How can you fix it?
Map out the potential journeys through the launch on paper. It’s easier to think like a lead when not in front of the screen.
Launch Mistake #7: scale
Sara Wiles says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
not planning way in advance for it, not warming up their audience, not realizing the REAL reason people are buying, and selling THAT.
How can you fix it?
Understand what goes into planning your successful launch, so you don’t bomb it! Put a plan in place!
Launch Mistake #8: driving traffic
Camilla Hallstrom says that the biggest mistake she sees when launching is…
thinking that Pinterest and SEO are quick fixes that will drive tons of traffic fast.
The thing is: YES, both Pinterest and SEO will get you organic (free/automated) traffic that is much more profitable than paid traffic (and more reliable than social media traffic), but both of them take time to build up.
How can you fix it?
make sure you get started at least a few months before your launch so that you have a consistent stream of clients finding your site and offers
Launch Mistake #9: audience needs
The biggest mistake I see when launching is…
to assume that you know what your audience NEEDS instead of actually doing research to find out what they perceive to be their problem (what they want).
How can you fix it?
Slowing down your push to sell and actually listening to your audience can result in a much easier sell – because when you’re selling a solution that answers what they THINK is the problem, they line up to buy.
Couple this insight with honesty and open communication and you’ll knock it out of the park.
There you have it!
